Meet the Artist

After 18 years of homeschool teaching, I’m starting a new adventure – building a calligraphy and watercolor business that honors slow, intentional creativity.

I discovered traditional italic calligraphy in high school and returned to it over the years whenever I needed meditative, intentional creativity. During the COVID pandemic, my children and I started creating digital art with Procreate, which led me to explore watercolor painting and brush pen calligraphy. That eventually brought me to pointed pen work and engraving. Over the years, I have tried my hand at almost every craft there is, but the mediums that captivate me most are ink and watercolor.

What I love about calligraphy, watercolor, and even engraving is the dance between discipline and spontaneity—the delicate contrast of thin hairlines and bold shades, the way ink flows from nib to paper, the unexpected beauty that emerges when watercolor meets the page. There’s something magical about creating art that honors tradition while embracing the unpredictable.

As both an artist and a teacher, I’m passionate about sharing this creative journey. I teach watercolor and beginner calligraphy, and I’m currently taking select commissions for custom work. If you’re seeking machine-like perfection, you won’t find it here. But if you’re drawn to thoughtfully crafted pieces with subtle variations and organic beauty that make them truly one-of-a-kind—or if you want to learn these beautiful art forms yourself—I’d love to work with you.
